Artwork of college-aspiring, elementary-age children can now be purchased as personalized greeting cards. Just in time for the holiday season, C-FB Kids Cards launch www.cfbkidscards.com this week with cards designed by students from the Carrolton-Farmers (C-FB) Branch ISD. Funds from the website - which was built pro bono by Fenway Group, a Dallas-based consulting agency - will be used to:

  • Student Scholarships
  • Teacher Grants
  • Special Classroom Projects
  • Program & Campus Grants

Martin Santora, president of Fenway Group and member of the C-FB ISD Educational Foundation board of directors, points out that it’s no secret a college education is expensive. “Especially in our current economic climate, kids hoping for college have to get more inventive about how they get there,” said Santora. “What better way to encourage the spirit of innovation in the next generation than to support a business model like this.” Not only does C-FB Kids Cards fund college grants and scholarships, but, by improving the quality of education given to elementary students, the foundation makes them more likely to be accepted into higher education programs when the time comes.

All cards can be personalized and customized, including the addition of company logos and signatures. New cards and themes will be introduced throughout the year as students, supervised by art teachers, participate in contests. The Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD student art greeting card project not only showcases the art talents of elementary-age students, but also salutes the district’s three nationally acclaimed Fine Arts Programs – C-FB Art, C-FB Music and C-FB Theater.
